Girl Under the Hood

A Night of Cars and Great People

This week, Jacob and I were able to get over to the Frogg Brewing Car Cruise Night. It had been a few weeks since the last one, due to the weather. It felt a little bit like “old home day.”

Night of Cars

I say it all the time. Car guys (And gals) are the best. Friendly (Even the ornery ones!) and outgoing. It is a family of sorts. (Some might even suggest a bit dysfunctional from time to time. Check out our 12 steps of recovery. Give us $3 at a show for one of these, and we will give you an extra to accompany it. Buy it online and we will bring it to the next show.)

The weather was nice, and the cars continued to arrive. The regulars were showing up, and there were the classic Mustangs and Vettes, but my favorite of the night was a 2 tone, blue and white Ford. My next favorite was a DeLorean. Okay, let me be honest. There were many favorites that night. (Check out all the pictures Jacob got this week.)

Lots of Cars to See

What else was there? A 1955 Chevy two-tone, a 2006 Goldwing trike, a Ford Falcon, a couple of Vettes, a DeLorean with the plate 88 MPH, some super nice trucks, new and old Mustangs, and even a bike with a sidecar. There were 35-40 vehicles there—a good turnout, which left us with enough time to spend with everyone.

Jacob and I went up to sit with a friend who has the General Lee Hellcat, which we showed pictures of. We sat at the counter, grabbing a refreshment and chatting with some of the staff members and one of the owners.

We went and sat on the patio and invited the guy with the Goldwing trike to join us while he was eating. He has a couple of classics, one of which is a Mercury Montego.

Many of these individuals who build and showcase these cars are small business owners. And I think we ought to support them. Guys like Phil from PassAuto in Keene and Bobs in West Swanzey.

These folks have made this a family place. Kids, dogs, and even weddings and memorials are held here. Tonight, they have Dueling Pianos-Best of Boston. If you are visiting the Monadnock Region, this is a great place to visit.

Upcoming Shows

We have a few more weeks of cruise nights. We need to figure out what we do in the winter. Maybe virtual car shows or something.

Jacob is going to be shooting pictures, as well as drone and 360 VR for the veterans show on Labor Day at Frogg and then we head off to the Adirondacks for one of the largest shows in the Northeast.

If you have a car and want a good show to visit the Labor Day show is a good one.

Let’s finish out the summer with some more great shows. And let’s support folks like Frogg Brewing who put these shows together.

That’s it for today! Have a great week! Maybe see you at Brickhouse this week.
